Patient Information
Welcome
Welcome to Gold Coast Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, led by specialist surgeon Dr Shannon Webber. From the moment you arrive, you can feel confident that you are in the very best of care. Dr Webber is highly experienced in all areas of oral and maxillofacial surgery, and our team is here to support you every step of the way.
Your comfort and well-being are extremely important to us. We aim to make your visit as relaxed and stress-free as possible, and we pride ourselves on providing treatment in a professional, caring and friendly environment.
For your convenience, Dr Webber consults at two locations—Gold Coast and Tweed Heads—and both clinics offer free parking.
Most patients are referred to us by their GP, dentist or another specialist. Please remember to bring any referral letters or reports you have been given. If you don’t have them on hand, just let our reception team know—we are happy to contact your referring practitioner directly to organise this for you.
Many referrals (except for soft-tissue concerns) require an accompanying x-ray, usually an OPG (full mouth x-ray). If you already have one, please bring it with you. If you don’t, we can take an OPG at your first appointment at our Gold Coast clinic, or we can provide a referral for patients seeing us in Tweed Heads.
We look forward to caring for you and making your experience as smooth and comfortable as possible.
Upon arrival you will be presented with a medical history form to complete. For your convenience you can complete this in advance by clicking here to print the form.
After your initial consultation with Dr Webber he will explain your diagnosis and treatment along with all alternative options available. You will have an opportunity to have all your questions answered in a relaxed and caring environment. Following the consultation, Dr Webber will direct you to one of our friendly treatment coordinators to obtain further information along with written quotes and post-operative instructions. Payment options will be discussed and appointments can be scheduled.
To help us provide you with the highest level of care, please bring the following items to your appointment:

Financial Information:

The initial consultation fee will vary for each patient, please call our office to discuss this further. A Medicare rebate is available for all patients who have a valid referral. We deliver the finest care at the most reasonable cost to our patients; therefore payment is due at the time of your initial consultation (EFT, MasterCard or VISA). For patients with treatment scheduled in hospital, payment is required 1 week in advance to secure your booking (anaesthetist and hospital billing is done separately to ours). For treatment provided in our rooms under local anaesthetic, payment is due at the time of your service. If you have any questions regarding your account please contact us directly, many times a simple telephone call can clear any misunderstandings.
Private Health Insurance:
At Gold Coast OMS we make every effort to provide you with the finest surgical care and the most convenient financial options. We will work hand in hand with you to maximise your insurance benefits for covered procedures. Cherie, our knowledgeable Treatment Coordinator, will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have. Please remember to bring your health insurance information with you to the consultation appointment.
Scheduling and Same Day Treatment:
If you have travelled a distance, have an urgent case, or have time constraints, Dr Webber can on occasion perform treatment at the same time as the consultation. This issue needs to be raised with the staff during the time of booking the appointment to allow sufficient time to be put aside for Dr Webber. It also depends on whether the procedure is straight forward and can be performed in our consultation rooms under local anaesthetic, or in some circumstances general anaesthetic procedures can also be pre-booked. Medications taken can sometimes have an impact on whether treatment can be done on the day also. Please bring a list of all current medications to your appointment. Dr Webber will ultimately make this decision at the time of booking.
Privacy Policy:
Our professional staff consider your privacy with the highest regard. The practice will obtain written consent from you at your initial consultation appointment with us. A detailed privacy policy can be accessed at the practice.
If you have any further questions, or would like to schedule an appointment please contact us via email or call 07 5527 8858.
